Whether you need a last-minute fix for this year or you've already started organising for 2018, these venues are just what you need for the annual summer party
Chelsea Harbour Hotel, The City
Capacity 800
The glass-fronted five-star hotel looks right at home in chi-chi west London. Look first at The Grand Ballroom, or, for smaller affairs, check out either the Albert Suite or Battersea Suite. The latter two have balcony terraces looking onto the marina and its superyachts – sure to set a classy tone for summer parties.
The Brewery, Shoreditch
Capacity 800
Come summer, the venue will bring a ‘Polynesian paradise’ to the City. Two marquees will have a raised clear roof, under which guests will enjoy tropical decor, barbecues and an indoor after-party space.
London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Park
Capacity 1,000
The new home of West Ham United is an impressive setting for sizeable summer affairs. The Boleyn space offers groups a fun pub atmosphere and has pitchside access for those keen on a proper look at the turf. Marquees are another option.
The Worx, Fulham
Capacity 1,000
This industrial-feel venue has nine large, contemporary rooms leading off from a central courtyard and restaurant. All of its spaces have high ceilings and are kept clear to provide a blank canvas for summer dressing.
Museum of London Docklands, West India Quay
Capacity 1,200
This waterside venue is spread over the five floors of a splendid late-Georgian warehouse. Organise barbecue food (from Ampersand) in the Muscovado Hall – picture exposed brickwork and pine pillars – before having cocktails outside on its private quayside terrace. The views will complement your summer party nicely.
