The Kensington community kitchen that serves lunch to the homeless and the socially vulnerable can now be booked for events.
We love the dining hall for the calming vibes designer Ilse Crawford has created with low-hanging pendant lights, pastel green walls and an abundance of potted plants. It also particularly suits dry hire – a new professional kitchen was installed in June and can be used by whichever caterer you choose.
The venue was originally built in 1894 to serve the adjoining church and clergy house, with the same architect used for the church, Hugh Roumieu Gough, in charge of the design.
It reopened in June this year with Food for Soul (top Italian chef Massimo Bottura’s non-profit organisation) leading the project. All proceeds from private functions will help the charity to continue providing free and supplemented meals to those in need.
Inside you can host 80 people seated or 150 for a standing reception, and there’s space for private catering with in-house chefs, should you prefer.
Availability is in the evenings (5-11pm) and weekends (all day until midnight), as naturally during the week it's busy with its main job – feeding the local community.
