Venue group Blank Canvas has added a bare-bones venue to its portfolio this month that’s totally new to the events scene – Old Street Showrooms.
Originally a warehouse for trendy clothing brand Stüssy, the venue sits across two floors, with white washed walls upstairs and concrete floors and exposed brick walls in the larger space downstairs. It’s oh so Shoreditch.
We were lucky enough to visit on opening night for a sneak peek of what it could look like when properly kitted out, with production from Invisible Blue, catering from Spook and a good selection of tipples from Cock & Tail.
Coloured spotlights, potted plants and large mirrors helped to create a welcoming space, while a cocktail selection that included white port and tonics and a full negroni bar was very on trend. It was the moreish canapé selection that really impressed us though. Picture mini potato rostis topped with chorizo and quail’s egg, and hot smoked trout with watercress mayo, salmon roe and sorrel.
If that’s sparked your interest, then
get in touch with the team to plan your own takeover for up to 200 guests standing.
