Within the lush estate of
Leeds Castle sits Battel Hall, a 14th-century luxury manor house. A residential home up until now, a two-year renovation has transformed it into a venue ideal for small conferences, board meetings or corporate retreats.
The five-bedroom house features a handsome dining room, which seats 14, so this is something for a more intimate get-together. With its own kitchen, you can either get stuck in and do your own cooking (always fun), or hire professional chefs or caterers to come in (there’s a handy dedicated caterer’s entrance). The dining room is also excellent for formal meetings, whereas the two sitting rooms (kitted out with open fireplaces) are great for more casual discussions.
Outside, you have a patio and a roofed bower – we’re thinking drinks receptions or alfresco lunches in the summer. And if you’re planning a sporty teambuilding event, you’re free to use the garden during your stay (
Leeds Castle offers everything from displays, a nine-hole golf course and a yew-tree maze, to punting on the moat, archery, Go Ape! and segway tours).
Just an hour out of London, the Kentish countryside offers the opportunity to get out of the Big Smoke for some fresh air and green sights. The residential and stately interiors are distinctly comfortable, so you’re guaranteed a relaxing time while you’re here.
