This Christmas party season, Bourne & Hollingsworth will take over a 19th-century chapel on Shaftesbury Avenue to gift event planners with
The Winter House.
The venue is set over three floors and includes a grand hall for banquets beneath the umbrella-dome ceiling. Balconies overlook the main space for exclusive cocktail and canapé receptions, and there’s even an underground drinking den in the basement.
It’s not usually open to the public, so both whole venue takeovers and smaller shared parties for 10-50 people feel special.
Three-course dinners for up to 250 guests start from £90pp and include champagne on arrival, unlimited drinks, dessert canapés and dancing. Standing receptions for 500 are the same price per head and run in a similar fashion, swapping the sit-down affair for bowl food – we like the sound of slow-cooked beef in red wine, topped with smoky bacon.
Cocktails keep things feeling festive; try Three Wise Men for a mix of triple malt Scotch whisky, vermouth and Campari stirred with prune liqueur.
