MasterChef winner Adam Handling has launched a new events space at his East London restaurant, The Frog Hoxton.
The Iron Stag was formerly a whisky-focused bar, but has now been repurposed as an events and entertainment space, available for private hire. The space offers weekly comedy shows and live music performances to the general public, but it is also available to hire as an events venue, suitable for private dining, parties or corporate meetings.
Iron Stag can host live music functions, parties and corporate meetings
The space can host up to 70 people at one time and is found beneath The Frog Hoxton. The benefit of this is that events here can be supplemented with drinks and food created by Handling’s in-house kitchen and bar teams.
The venue is a flexible space and can be transformed into a live music venue, thanks to a dedicated stage and sound system. Iron Stag is also home to the Hoxton Comedy Club, with comedy shows taking place every Tuesday night from 8pm. The crowd-funded comedy nights are hosted by comedian Jay Handley, who is a regular at Edinburgh Fringe and bills himself as the ‘white Jesus’. Handley will be presenting a line-up of up-and-coming comedians to the public every Tuesday, which could make for a good team night out idea with a twist.

Talking about the decision to open Iron Stag as an events and entertainment venue, Adam Handling (who owns the Adam Handling Group which operates Iron Stag) said: “We originally opened Iron Stag as a whisky-led bar, but sadly local licensing restrictions have led to a re-think on the best future use. We’re really excited to be offering a new concept for the Group – a beautiful and flexible venue that can accommodate so many different public and private hire options.”
