Since its inception in 1845, Hotel Café Royal has been one of London's most iconic haunts for bringing together creatives, thinkers, royalty and revellers, right on Regents Street. Across its portfolio of eight private dining spaces, the likes of Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde and Mick Jagger have all been hosted here over the years, making it a fabulous place to throw your own bash.
First off, there's the unbeatable location. Positioned at the top of Regents Street, the hotel is not only in walking distance from Picadilly Circus, Oxford Street and a string of other tube stations which makes things easy for guests travelling in from around London, but thanks to 154 luxury bedrooms, there's plenty of room for them to stay, too.
There's also plenty of choice when it comes to the type of space you can hire. For a wedding reception, consider the Pompadour Ballroom which can host up to 250 people standing, or 110 for a sit-down dinner. With Louis XVI style decor, painted ceilings and fluted Corinthian pilasters, it's a stunning backdrop for a very special occasion.
Corporate events are best suited to the Queensberry suite; the hotel's meeting centre. This generous space is modern, clean-cut and stylish favouring natural materials and hues with plenty of natural light. Here, you can host conferences, meetings, workshops and dinners, all in one area with a capacity of up to 150 people.
A particular favourite of ours is the Oscar Wilde Lounge with its plush red furnishings, golden wall details and grand piano. This space has a capacity of up to 60 standing and 42 seated and is the place if you're really trying to make an impact.
In terms of catering, speak to the skilled team and they can help create a bespoke menu for you and chat through any other questions you might have.
