Not sure what to do for this year's Christmas party? How about spending Christmas at Megan's Clapham Old Town - a cute, casual and cosy all-day restaurant with a passionate team who are already excited to host you. If you're not familiar with Megan's already, this boutique chain is all over London, with venues in the likes of Balham, Kensington and Islington - but, if your office is based in Clapham, the Old Town haunt is perfect.
Especially for the season, the team have created a festive-themed menu which can be enjoyed as a table or across a standing or seated larger party, taking over a section or even the entire venue. For a relaxed, family-style affair the feasting menu is a great way to go - this way everyone gets to try a little bit of everything. There are starters like buttermilk fried chicken with cranberry and date dip and alongside crispy brussels on labneh, followed by mains like turkey, lamb kofta, sucuk, oyster mushrooms and halloumi skewers on a feasting board, and then dessert of giant half-baked festive cookie dough - topped off with mulled wine, a minced pie and frozen espresso martini shot!
As for the set menu, you can choose whatever you fancy - which could be pigs in blankets with hot honey and pistachio, followed by mains of Megan's Christmas kebab and a dessert like sticky date and toffee pudding with ice cream.
Personally, we love the sound of the canape list which is perfect for a drinks and nibbles affair. You can choose between five, seven or 10 canapes, with options like calamari and garlic yoghurt, crispy halloumi bites with honey or mini mince pies.
As for the space, Megan's Clapham Old Town has a total capacity of 400 standing or 200 seated with no hire fee, just a minimum spend. You can also take over smaller areas like the Tree Room, which has space for 50 seated and 80 standing.
