If you've been dreaming of a countryside wedding, let us introduce you to Wild By Nature. This independent collective spans several venues across the country, each one rooted in nature, wholesome food and good times.
For Herefordshire couples, Lower House Farm is a dream venue, snuggled in the foothills of The Black Mountains. This regenerative farm is surrounded by Olchon Valley and the stunning views that provides, meaning your special day will take place next to ancient woodlands, wildflower meadows and enchanting streams - like something from a fairytale.
At the heart of the farm, you'll find a 17th-century stone and oak-framed barn, recently renovated to make it the perfect wedding venue for couples today. This space can accomodate up to 100 people on long trestle tables, ready to enjoy an indulgent feasting menu, curated by in-house chefs using the best of locally-sourced produce.
First up, though, and it's time for reception canapes with tasty combinations such as hot smoked chalkstream trout with horseradish creme fraiche, sourdough blini and cucumber and dill dressing, alongside summer vegetable and feta tart, and beef tartare croute.
Once sat down, Porthilly oysters on ice and home cured charcuterie with pickles starts things off, followed by a 'centrepiece' dish for you and your table-mates. Choose between options like deliciously rich cuts of slow cooked beef from the site's native breed cattle, or porchetta cooked slowly over coals, and fire roasted aubergine, stuffed with feta and butter beans. For dessert, there's plenty to choose from but we like the sound of treacle tart with candied orange and clotted cream, alongside chocolate and muscovado pot with raspberries.
As for accomodation, the Old Great Marlborough is a lovingly-restored farmhouse with capacity for up to 22 people, ideal for housing your nearest and dearest close to the action.
