The Bull's Head is a historic drover's inn in Craswall, snuggled in the foothills of Herefordshire's Black Mountains. Owned by the Wild By Nature group, the pub and events venue retains most of its historic charm having undergone a restoration to update the main pub with a rustically stylish design concept, while honouring authentic details like flagstone flooring.
The team are already preparing for this year's Christmas gatherings and are welcoming colleagues, friends and family to get together at Lower House Farm, an idyllic spot close to The Bull's Head. Here, a 17th Century oak-framed barn provides the perfect place to throw a festive shindig with a capacity of up to 80 guests.
Treat your team to arrival welcome drinks around the firepit, before moving inside to enjoy a five-course feasting menu on long trestle tables. Begin with some snacks such as Old Winchester croquettes and Gordal olives, before moving onto starters like parsnip soup with hazelnuts and Perroche goats cheese, or smoked ham hock terrine with pickled mushrooms and watercress salad.
For mains, guests can choose between confit duck leg with roasted squash, chestnuts and cavolo nero, or salt baked celeriac, mushroom and Ashcombe cheese pie. And finally, for those with a sweet tooth, desserts look like chocolate mousse with red wine pears and gingerbread, or clementine jelly with cinnamon ice cream.
The Bull's Head gang have also handily created some drinks packages to make keeping your guests watered even easier. As mentioned, start off with a welcome drink of winter cocktail, spiked mulled cider or a festive fizz. Throughout the meal, enjoy half a carafe of house wine, followed by teas and coffees, with a cheeky mince pie, too.
If live entertainment is on the cards, ask your events coordinator for their list of local suppliers with ideas for DJs, folk bands and everything in between.
