Clitheroe is a town in the borough of Ribble Valley sitting within Lancashire. Just over 30 miles north-west of Manchester, Clitheroe is very much an up-and-coming area and is a popular choice with commuters who want a bit of a quieter lifestyle. Clitheroe Castle is said to have been the smallest Norman castle in England and these days houses a museum amongst its 16 acres of landscaped gardens. Greatest Days, the film based on The Take That Songbook was actually filmed in Clitheroe. So as you stroll around you may spot some familiar sights from the film. If you enjoy art you will be able to take advantage of the many shops in the town centre and the platform gallery which sits in the old railway station and houses plenty of contemporary craft exhibitions and a gallery that rolls on throughout the year.
