Located within the What A Goal sports centre, What A Shot brings a premium sports bar feel and Indian fusion menu to Thurmaston, Leicester. Guests can dine or drink overlooking the venue’s indoor football pitches and there’s also a rich supply of screens dotted throughout, perfect for watching any major sporting occasion.
The menu covers a lot of ground, meaning there’s something on offer to suit most tastes. To start, choose from classics like bhayjas and chilli paneer or an intriguing range of Indian-inspired bao buns, including paneer tikka and sheekh kebab. Alongside this, there’s seafood starter options, such as chilli prawns and masala fish.
Mains follow the same pattern of blending much-loved staples with an exciting fusion range. The former includes butter chicken, lamb rogan josh and biryanis available with either chicken, lamb, vegetables or prawns. Representing the latter is nachos and naanzas, both of which can be ordered with paneer or chicken tikka. A naanza takes the form of a pizza but substitutes the traditional base for crispy naan.
There’s also a kids menu, where the choices are chicken nuggets and chips, fish fingers and chips or a naanza pizza. Desserts are either a brownie, gulab jamun (dough balls in a sweet sticky sauce), profiteroles or ice cream. To drink there’s a range of beers, wines, ciders and cocktails. Speciality cocktails include a gin garden, peach Picasso and pornstar martini. What A Shot can be hired for parties, private dining and corporate events. Parties come complete with a hot or cold buffet and start at £15 a head. Corporate hire starts at £27 a head. For that, you get access to the directors lounge meeting, which houses a 100 inch smart TV.
Private dining requires a minimum of 10 guests and a maximum of 14 and is upwards of £65 a head.
