Treatz Desserts is a desserts parlour in Camden, North London. It is one of 19 locations nationwide, which range from Edinburgh to Gravesend. This branch is the second in North London (the other is in Wembley) and is a short walk from Camden Town tube station on the Northern Line. The menu is extensive and inventive. It includes gelato, ice cream, pancakes, crepes, waffles, cheesecake, brownies and cookie dough.
The gelato selection is over 20 flavours strong. These range from the classic (vanilla, coffee, pistachio) to the bold (blue bubblegum, candyfloss, strawberry cheesecake). There’s an equally large range of toppings and extras, covering everything from Skittles to chopped nuts to a chocolate waffle cone.
Waffles can either be ordered crunchy and filled with ice cream (known as baskets) or freshly made and topped in several ways. Basket options include toffee punch (fudge ice cream with caramel sauce and fudge pieces) and cookie crumble (cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream with chocolate sauce and Oreo cookies). Those opting for the traditional waffle form can choose from the likes of Treatz ferrero (Ferrero Rocher pieces and vanilla ice cream) and banutella (warm Nutlla and fresh banana slices).
Treatz’s pancakes and crepes are also made in-store daily. American pancake topping options include Treatz Lotus (Lotus sauce and biscuits) and strawberry vanilla. Crepe flavour choices are the same as for waffles. There’s also a taco trio: three pancakes fashioned into tacos and filled with three signature flavours.
If you’re after a sundae, there’s 14 different combinations to choose from. These are led by the visually arresting candylicious. This is bubblegum ice cream, strawberry sauce, 100s and 1000s, mini marshmallows and vanilla ice cream. You’ll also find a chocolate brownie indulge and mango mania.
On top of this, there’s mini doughnuts, French toast, milk cakes and cookie dough. If you’re stuck between a brownie and a cookie, order a brookie. This is a chocolate brownie sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies.
The milkshakes are equally as varied as the dessert menu, with many flavours repeated across the two. There’s also teas, coffees, hot chocolates and smoothies to drink.
