Located in the iconic glass building just a stone’s throw from Camden tube station, Mildred’s is a plant-based restaurant serving adventurous international cuisine. This popular London chain has been thrilling locals and tourists alike with its vegan offerings since the inaugural site opened on Greek Street in 1988, and this Camden outpost marks its sixth site to date.
Taking inspiration from vibrant cuisines across the world, from Sri Lanka to Italy, the all-day dining vegan menu at Mildred's has something for everyone. Start with small plates like spinach gyoza, harissa patatas bravas, and ‘chorizo’ chilli nachos with jalapenos and lime sour cream, before diving into larger dishes like grilled artichoke Caesar salad with tenderstem, crispy kale, and capers, and Cumberland sausages with mustard mash and red wine jus.
If you’re into imitation meat, there is a selection of buns like the hoi sin duk bun with sesame dressing, turmeric slaw and peanuts, or Korean fried chik’n bun with garlic mayo, and plantain, all served with Cajun salt and pepper fries. For dessert, enjoy the indulgent passion fruit cheesecake with black sesame tuile, or crème brulee with bergamot cherry compote and pistachio rose praline.
Mildred’s also boasts a cracking weekend brunch menu, so you can kick your day off strong. Keep it simple with 'pb & j' porridge or go all out with the almuerzo brunch of scrambled tofu, plantain fritters, chorizo chilli, guacamole, sour cream and mushroom rosemary quesadilla.
On the drinks menu, you’ll find enticing cocktails like the pandan yuzu daiquiri with white rum, spiced rum, yuzu and pandan infusion, as well as a decent wine list with every bottle available by the glass or carafe. There is also orange wine, British grown sparkling wine, we well as non-alcoholic drinks like cold tea infusions.
