History The name of Kimbolton does not appear in the Domesday Book, although the hamlet of Stocktune (Stockton) does feature. The civil parish of Kimbolton is reputed to be one of the largest in area in the whole of Herefordshire.
Over a century ago it contained a wharf where coal was brought from Stourport on the old canal and stored on the banks. Evidence of this can be seen at The Moors further along the A49.
Today the village is a lovely place to live and explore the Herefordshire countryside. It’s also home to the amazing Stockton Bury Gardens, one of England’s loveliest gardens.
