The Singing Rooster brings a taste of Poland and Europe to Cornwall with its range of special delicacies. Set in a traditional Cornish stone building, the restaurant has a cosy, traditional feel thanks to its unique decor. With wooden tables, chalkboard menus, seaside decorations and rustic bench seating, the restaurant is homely and welcoming to both tourists and locals, inviting diners to step in and experience Polish cuisine.
The menu specialises in Polish and European delicacies with fresh ingredients and preparation at the heart of its ethos. All of the food is cooked daily on the premises so it is likely that the restaurant will be bursting with the aromas of freshly baked breads and pastries. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, The Singing Rooster has only offered a reduced menu that is displayed on rustic chalkboards in the restaurant and are changed daily. This seems to be a popular decision with the restaurant suggesting they are unlikely to return to an extensive menu yet. An ever-changing menu ensures that guests experience new dishes every time they visit and allows a deeper insight into Polish cuisine. Bigos, a Polish stew of chopped meats, sauerkraut and shredded cabbage; and lazanki, a type of pasta-style dish of thin wheat noodles that are boiled and often eaten with pork and sour cream; are regulars on the menu as they are popular Polish staples. Other examples include Polish meatballs, soups, savoury tarts, other traditional stews and vegan options of their signature dishes.
Don't skip out dessert with so many homemade Polish cakes, tarts and pastries on offer that are the perfect accompaniment to a cup of coffee or tea.
The Singing Rooster is available for private parties, weddings and pretty much any other celebration whether that is at the restaurant or at an external venue.
