Went for Sunday lunch, on a very sunny autumnal day. We sat outside on the terrace to take advantage of the good weather. I ordered the chicken liver pate to start, followed by the duck ragu. Both were excellent; the pate, smooth and flavorsome with a tangy red onion chutney. The duck ragu, rich, with a fantastic sauce reduction, which had a beautiful depth of flavour, and plenty of duck- most impressed. This was accompanied by a couple of glasses of Pinot Noir, recommended by the bar staff, which matched well. The only issue we had, was the time taken from starters to mains. I put this down to the fact that we were outside, and not visible by the waiting staff. Inside the pub was busy, with the restaurant section completely full, customers, a mixture of well-healed locals and tourists. Overall, a very pleasurable experience- I will definitely return.
