The Joiners is known by the locals of Bruntingthorpe to be a charming village inn that serves excellent food in a relaxed setting, with a super selection of ales and other tipples. With a tasty yet short menu and extensive list of specials on the blackboard, you'll always find something special to eat at The Joiners. It’s a given that you’ll be in for a treat.
The kitchen team at The Joiners place emphasis on quality, sourcing top notch ingredients that are cooked with care. The team even works with the same suppliers that they have been trusting for over 20 years now, so can tell you exactly where your food is traced back to. Starters include the chicken liver parfait with chutney and toasted fig ciabatta, a crispy pork salad with hoisin and wonton wafers, and a goats cheese and beetroot risotto with crispy walnuts. Other favourites include the soup of the day, and king scallops with Clonakilty black pudding and garlic mash.
Choose the roasted halloumi with Mediterranean vegetables for your main, drizzled with pesto, or the fillet of sea bass with Chinese greens, crab ravioli and sweet chilli sauce. The medallions of beef fillet with Diane sauce and dauphinoise potato is always a top choice, as is the wild halibut with spiced prawn and crab butter and skinny fries. The dessert selection is almost as long as that of the starters and mains, which sounds good to us. Try the licorice panna cotta with blackcurrant sorbet, chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream and the souffle of the day. The custard tart is a familiar favourite, with mascarpone and peach ice cream, along with the lemon meringue sundae.
