The menus vary depending on not only the time of day that you’re dining, but whether you’re visiting during the weekdays or on the weekend, brunch is served until midday and begins with a sweet selection of toasted banana bread with blackberry jam, chocolate soil, oat fraiche and dark chocolate, along with an apple crumble waffle with apple compote, ginger crumble and Madagascan vanilla custard. If you prefer a savoury start to the day, order the nostalgic double dippy eggs with two soft boiled St Ewe rich yolk eggs, sourdough soldiers and whipped miso brown butter. The naughty mistress is one of the restaurant's signature brunch dishes and includes a breakfast hash cake, Bloody Mary beans, poached eggs, smoked back bacon, butchers sausage, slow roasted tomato, roasted Portobello mushroom and grilled sourdough.
Lunch begins at 12pm and includes the popular ranchy chicken waffle with crispy buttermilk chicken on a malted waffle with smashed avocado, smoked streaky bacon, English parmesan and a sweet spiced maple glaze. The drinks menu is impressive, too, with plenty of hot and iced coffee options, loose leaf teas, cold and hot juices.
Every month, there is a series of surplus supper clubs which are your chance to enjoy a beautiful five course tasting menu that is made with seasonal ingredients that would have otherwise gone to waste. How great is that?
