As its name suggests, views of an 18-hole championship golf course are one of the plus points at this informal all-day eatery in the Rockliffe Hall hotel and spa complex. Grills, steaks, salads, light bites and British classics are the order of the day – from fish-finger sandwiches, grilled black pudding with mustard and mash or beer-battered cod at lunchtime to smoked salmon rillettes with orange, fennel and brown shrimp vinaigrette, fishcakes with parsley cream or roast herb-fed chicken with stuffing and thyme gravy in the evening. As for desserts, think sticky toffee pudding, lemon meringue pie with strawberry compote or fruit crumble with homemade custard. Other attractions include breakfast until noon, traditional Sunday roasts and live music on Friday evenings. A handy alternative to the more formal Orangery and Spa Brasserie.
