Located in Devonshire House, across the plaza from Pan Pacific London, SHIOK! patisserie is the perfect stop off for those on the go, bringing Pan Pacific's signature Singaporean flavours to the heart of London.
Influenced by Pan Pacific's Singaporean roots, SHIOK! brings a unique spectrum of Singapore-influenced pastries to Bishopsgate. The word ‘shiok’, means the feeling of pleasure and happiness, and the decor certainly matches the vibe - pink and purple flowers line the window sill, contrasting with tan leather banquettes by the large street-facing windows.
Behind a glass counter you'll see an array of beautiful, precise patisserie creations. SHIOK! is designed to be a place where people can experience 'shiok' throughout the day, and the flavours featured here are all reminiscent of things typically eaten and enjoyed in Singapore, often incorporating lesser-seen ingredients in the west, such as pandan. You don't need to reserve a table here - you can just walk in.
At breakfasts, guests can enjoy a range of viennoiserie, including classic croissants, pain au chocolats, almond croissants and granola cups. The immaculate patisserie items on the menu at the time of writing include the Chinese Lantern (a jasmine bavarois filled with pear compote, on a black sesame sable biscuit), the Honey Bee (a madeleine with pinepaple jelly and honey mousse) and the beautiful Banoffee petit gateau. To drink, you’ll find the classic Singaporean staple bubble tea, including a selection of flavours and colours to sample, alongside Champagne and wine. Hot and cold drinks such as tea and coffee are also available.
SHIOK! is part of Pan Pacific London, a hotel home to various restaurants and bars that celebrate straits cuisine. The hotel also boasts 237 bedrooms including 42 suites, a landscaped public plaza and even allows pets. Other restaurants at Pan Pacific London include The Orchid Lounge, Straits Kitchen, Ginger Lily, the cocktail bar Silverleaf and the well-stocked Straits Bar, which boasts more than 150 carefully selected Champagnes.
