Vicinity has claimed one of the best spots in the city, sitting pretty in The Tower Hotel on the River Thames, overlooking some of the capital's most iconic landmarks - from Tower Bridge to The Shard. Whether you're looking for somewhere to enjoy after-work dinner or drinks, or a private dining space with a difference to host your next birthday, Vicinity is an all-rounder that works for any occasion. You can enjoy Vicinity's great views by sitting inside or out.
The main dining room boasts richly-toned,wooden parquet flooring, huge windows and modern furniture. While outside, there's a mix of colourful, al fresco furniture and cosy armchairs next to the fire pits which is a magical spot for after-dinner cocktails, looking out to the river. The menu is inspired by global flavours and has plenty of choice, with something for everyone.
You might like to start with some lighter bites such as pearl barley salad with beetroot, roast butternut squash and toasted pumpkin seeds, alongside salt and pepper squid or a charcuterie board to share. For mains, the Vicinity team recommend their burgers which are a house special, offering the likes of The Tower Burger which has two beef burgers stacked high, covered in melted cheddar cheese, red onion, pickles, beef tomato, lettuce, and house burger sauce, all in a brioche-style bun. And, who can resist a 12-inch, thin and crispy stone-baked pizza, hand-crafted using fresh, authentic Italian ingredients? Toppings change seasonally but at the moment, we like the sound of The Garden Club with Fior di Latte mozzarella, sweet red onions, soft roasted courgettes, mild piquanté peppers and fresh wild roquette. Oh, and all pizzas come with gluten-free bases, too!
As for typical main dishes, there's the 'land and sea' section with signature fish and chips, chicken tikka masala and a caesar salad. As well as a selection of desserts such as baked vanilla cheesecake and apple tarte tatin.
