From the creators of Pub in the Park and Drive & Dine Theatre, comes one of the UK’s most exciting summer events for 2021 - The Alfresco Theatre. Coming to a UK town near you, The Alfresco Theatre is bringing a vibrant combination of chefs, music, movies and comedy all around the UK. Initially starting as a drive-in experience to ensure covid-compliance, as the UK's rules relax, as can the event, allowing visitors to set up their own private picnic patch where they can enjoy the day. The event is packed full of entertainment, with a host of comedy performances, feel-good movies, music and a live production of the Gruffalo - meaning there is something for all the family to enjoy.
Hitting the road with The Alfresco Theatre will be an epic line up of chefs, all offering one off dishes that you won’t be able to experience anywhere else. Enjoy creations from Tom Kerridge, Rick Stein, Atul Kochhar, Paul Ainsworth, and Jason Atherton, all while being fully entertained by a host of fantastic performances.
There will be a host of feel-good films to watch - you can have the ultimate drive-in cinema experience and watch movies such as Dirty Dancing, Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, all while enjoying delicious dishes and sound projected through your car radio. You'll also be able to sing your heart out with special sing-along versions of The Greatest Showman and Grease, with on-screen lyrics to make sure you never miss a beat.
The team at Tall Stories will also be on hand to bring you The Gruffalo, live on stage. You can join Mouse through the deep, dark wood in this magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.
Oh and how we have missed live music! Saturday nights will be reserved for going ‘out out’, with performances from BJÖRN AGAIN: The ABBA Show, and The Bootleg Beatles, ensuring that everyone is fully entertained with these classic hits, all streamed through to your car stereo.
As the evenings draw in, Mark Watson’s Carpool Comedy Club will be an unmissable part of the event. Mark will be joined by a host of comedians - including Dara Ó Briain, Nish Kumar, Ed Byrne Nina Conti, Marcus Brigstocke, Rachel Parris, Angela Barnes and more still to be announced.
