Stephen and Juliette Wall came up with the idea for Pho after travelling through Vietnam and falling in love with the food and culture. Their first restaurant was opened nearly twenty years ago in Ho Chi Minh City, and now, Pho has restaurants all across the country. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food that is prepared fresh daily, Pho is your go to.
The restaurant recommends dipping, sharing, tearing, rolling and of course, laughing, when enjoying starters at Pho. Enjoy the summer rolls with fresh rice paper and vermicelli, pickle, and options of veggie, chicken, prawn or vegan chicken, or the crispy fried baby squid with a salt, pepper and lime dip. Other starters include the beef wrapped in betel leaves, and homemade pork and lemongrass meatballs.Chances are you've come for some pho, and options include the delicious pairing of tender beef brisket slow cooked in the house broth, and king prawns. There are other options of tofu with mushroom, spicy green soup and crab noodle soup – which is a Hanoi classic with vermicelli noodles in a rich tomato and crab broth with wafer thin steak.
Pho xao is a wok fried flat noodle that is served with crunchy greens, protein and a choice of toppings, and comes with choices of chicken, prawn, tofu and mushroom and beef, all tossed with roasted peanuts and fresh bean shoots. Broken rice dishes are like fragrant Vietnamese curries, and include this isn't chicken curry dish, a rich, fragrant Vietnamese curry with vegetables and mushrooms, served with rice. For dessert, enjoy the crispy banana fritters with ice cream or sorbet, a hot Vietnamese filter coffee affogato, or a pandan waffle.
