Located in a corner of Jesmond, One Kitchen & Social is ready and waiting to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The team proudly use locally sourced ingredients, work with small businesses where possible, and support charity. If you're gluten free, you'll find plenty to eat here, with a large selection of gluten free dishes on the menu and all cakes made gluten free in house.
Julio Geordio’s eggs rancheros is the first dish on the menu, nodding to Mexican roots but with a northern touch. The dish is made with chunks of potatoes that are fried with free range smoked streaky bacon, three Northumberland free range fried eggs, cured nduja, cheese, in house black bean, corn and avo guacamole with salsa on top. For breakfast and brunch there are also plates of halloumi and eggs, a potato hash and pancakes with berries, yoghurt and honey. During the afternoon you can enjoy the bigger plates, such as a homemade beef or vegan chilli rice bowl with roasted padron peppers, leaves, homemade naked slaw, sweetcorn and black bean guacamole, chipotle mayo and homemade cornbread.
The salt beef sandwich is stuffed to the brim with in house salt beef in toasted sourdough, topped with artisan cheese, spinach, cornichons, melting mozzarella and a honey and mustard dressing. This very salt beef is a labour of love and takes five days to prepare – could you ask for anything more special? The Indian stack is made with warmed shredded chicken breast that is marinated in homemade pesto with sundried tomatoes, sweet drop peppers, mozzarella and cheddar, and a pile of wilted spinach. If you're seeking comfort food you'll love the fish finger sandwich, loaded fries and breaded chicken parm.
