NINE B is Leicester's newest destination restaurant, which is in the heart of the city's dining market. The modern, independent restaurant and bar are beautifully designed, stocking craft beers, wines, and serving cocktails with a worldwide influence. The interiors have been inspired by a mosaic that was excavated from a Roman villa that was found underneath the floors of NINE B. If you're dining here, you'll enjoy high quality, artisan produce from local businesses, and plenty of dishes that cater to all.
Dinner at NINE B is served from 6 until 9pm Sunday through to Thursday, and runs half an hour later on a Friday and Saturday. To start your meal, enjoy the wild mushroom arancini with tomato chutney, rocket leaves and parmesan, or the sauteed prawns with homemade chilli and lemon butter and toasted sourdough bread. The pulled chicken tacos are made with maple and bourbon BBQ sauce, lettuce, guacamole and salsa, whilst the tofu and mushroom bao buns are stuffed with teriyaki sauce. The mains on the menu sound delicious, including the salmon fillet with orange and herb sauce, mashed potato and broccoli, and spaghetti carbonara with cream sauce, pancetta and parmesan.
There are classics on the menu, including fish and chips with garden peas, a beef burger with spiced, caramelised onion mayo, beer battered onion rings and red cabbage slaw, and the Brocklebys shepherd delight pie – made with lamb, simmered with seasonal vegetables in a gluten free pastry, served with mash, mint gravy and baby carrots. There are wonderful desserts on the menu, from chocolate brownie with vegan vanilla ice cream and the honeycomb cheesecake, to a zingy tarte au citron with raspberry sorbet, and vanilla panna cotta.
