If you’re not a fan of loud noises, look away now (and perhaps don’t go outside until December). Everyone else, gather round: we’ve collected up an explosive collection of restaurants, all located near London’s best firework displays. It’s time to get booking – and be careful where you poke those sparklers, yeah?

Why here: This neighbourhood Turkish has sites in both Kingston and Walton, and impresses with its relaxed, convivial atmosphere, which is perfect for groups or families. The menu majors in authentic Turkish cuisine, with the offering divided into sections including cold mezze, seafood and vegetarian, and grill. Prices are pocket-friendly too.

Near to: Kingston. Fireworks will be shooting off here on Friday 2 November, from 8pm (£5pp)

The Empress London restaurant bar Hackney

The Empress, South Hackney

Why here: Right next to Victoria Park, this regal Empress receives a number of important local dignitaries throughout the day: the fishmonger, the butcher, the baker… all pay their respects here. As a result, chef Elliott Lidstone’s menu is a celebration of the foodie scene flourishing on his doorstep – though his influences are more global.

Near to: Victoria Park. Fireworks will be shooting off here on Sunday 4 November from 7pm (free entry)

Why here: For a quick pit-stop before watching the display, stop by this pizzeria where the pizzas are hand-stretched and served by the metre. Topping combos include fire-roasted potato with Taleggio and mozzarella cheese, fresh cream, rosemary and red onion, while a meal here will almost certainly leave you with change from £20.

Near to: Alexandra Palace. You'll find fireworks here on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November, from 8pm (£12pp)

Why here: Impressively ambitious in its scope, this café, bar and grill aims to feed and water Holborn’s ever-changing population from early morning until late at night. The large space is suitably multi-functional and the full menu is equally wide ranging, running from small plates on toast, via burgers (lamb with cumin and feta) and salads, to roast rib of beef.

Near to: Coram's Fields. The display here will be on Friday 2 November, with fireworks from 5.15pm (free entry)

Why here: At this spin-off of The Ivy, a full menu of modern brasserie classics is offered. Glamorous golden art-deco interiors and seductive lighting transport you back in time, while the menu is a please-all mix of classic British dishes (fish & chips, Shepher’s pie) and international plates, such as Mozzarella di bufala.

Near to: Wimbledon Park. Fireworks are here on Monday 5 November from 8pm (£10pp)

Joanna’s, Crystal Palace

Why here: This all-day brasserie has been around for over 30 years, and locals seek comfort in well-sourced steaks, burgers and other homey dishes. Prepare for standing around in a cold field by indulging in the hearty likes of crispy pork belly with broccoli, buttery mash, apple and ginger purée, or perhaps mixed mushroom and spinach pie, served with swede mash.

Near to: Crystal Palace. The night sky will be lit up here on Monday 5 November, from 7pm (£8.50pp)

L’Amorosa, Hammersmith

Why here: He made his name at Zafferano, but Andy Needham is now wowing Ravenscourt Park with this wonderful neighbourhood gem – an Italian restaurant that lives up to its amorous moniker. Pick from dishes such as cuttlefish with green beans and Taggiasche olives, while desserts include orange, ricotta and almond cake with honeycomb ice cream.

Near to: Ravenscourt Park. The celebrations kick off here on Saturday 3 November, from 8pm (£6pp)

The Little Blue Door, Fulham

Why here: Fulham’s Little Blue Door is a restaurant and bar which imitates a house share (so not one to bring the kids too), and everyone involved is 100% committed to the project. Reservations are made via WhatsApp, you have to ring the doorbell to be let in and there’s even a ‘utility room’ complete with bras hanging from a washing line and a dog bed.

Near to: Bishops Park. You can expect loud bangs here on Saturday 3 November, from 8pm (£8pp)

Maze Grill Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea

Why here: Gordon Ramsay’s third Maze Grill follows the successful formula established by Maze Grill Mayfair, serving up signature rare-breed steak alongside fish and poultry hot off the grill. Friendly staff are happy to make recommendations from a well-matched wine list, packed with decent bottles.

Near to: Battersea Park. The night sky will be lighting up here on Saturday 3 November from 6pm (£10pp)

Why here: Despite being synonymous with Padstow, Rick Stein now has a London branch to add to his portfolio. As with his other locations, here you can enjoy seaside classics such as classic fish & chips, alongside more exotic dishes inspired by the chef’s TV travels. It’s a child-friendly place too, so ideal if you’re seeing the fireworks as part of a family night out.

Near to: Barnes. Fireworks are here on Saturday 3 November, starting from 7.45pm

Why here: This modern brasserie offers a safe pair of hands in genteel SE10. Clues to the Rivington’s pedigree (owners Caprice Holdings also run The Ivy and J Sheekey) come with a 60-strong gin list and a roll-call of British comfort food. The place-mat menu features fuss-free food including pork escalope in a mushroom sauce.
