Lying in the borough of North Yorkshire, Middlesbrough is a town that holds much of the north’s history. Home to a number of famous landmarks, including the Transporter Bridge (the largest transporter bridge in the world today), Middlesbrough has plenty to offer. Chris Rea and Paul Rodgers hail from Middlesbrough, whilst the town has played a wider part in the country's musical heritage. Whilst the broader area of Teesside is well known for its chemical history, Middlesborough was better known for its production of iron and steel, along with being a coal port. If you have a day to spare in Middlesbrough, we'd pay a visit to the National Trust property of Ormesby Hall, a Grade I listed building that was completed in 1754.
