On the roof of the Hyatt Regency London Albert Embankment Hotel, set against the backdrop of the iconic London skyline, you will find Mezemiso, a Lebanese restaurant that invites you to transport to a land far beyond the city that lays beneath you. The food and entertainment offerings embrace a lust for luxury and celebrate unencumbered indulgence.
The restaurant is a sleek operation, with the jewel in its crown being the stunning 14th-floor Thames-side sky terrace, which takes in views of the London Eye and Houses of Parliament. Within, Mezemiso’s decor features a mix of copper and metallic tones, while the glamour is amped up with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, open fireplaces for colder nights and a dedicated shisha and cigar terrace.
The menu celebrates Lebanese culinary tradition, paying respect to the cultures use of aromatic herbs and spices. Begin with a selection of starters to share and fill the table with dips like hummus and mutabal, flaky filo pastries, as well as tabbouleh and fattoush salad. The eggplant fatteh is not to missed, layered with crispy bites of pitta chips in-between fried aubergine and a rich tahini yogurt sauce. Grilled meats and fish are the staples for the main course, though the chicken kabsa is a delicious and comforting Arabian delicacy that we would recommend to anyone.
For dessert sample Mezemiso’s homemade baklava, sticky and syrupy served with mango ice-cream. A lesser known, but just as delicious dessert from this region is the knafaa, another syrup-soaked filo pastry dish, filled with a sweet cheese mixture and topped with pistachios.
Once you’ve finished eating, stroll out to the terrace, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city while puffing on a cigar or shisha of your choosing. Make yourself comfortable, as the terrace is open until 2 am.
