Mc & Sons is an eclectic restaurant located in Vauxhall which combines two cultural experiences, bringing together the food, music and atmosphere of Ireland and Thailand. The kitchen is helmed by chefs hailing from Thailand who are on a mission to bring authentic, vibrant Thai street food to the heart of busy London.
The menu can be enjoyed two ways: choose just one or two of the small plates for a starter, before moving onto mains, or share everything so that you can taste the breadth of this well-rounded menu. For example, there are 14 Thai snacks which are perfect for sharing with the whole table. Meat-based dishes include homemade chicken and pork dumplings with thick sweet and sour soy sauce, alongside duck and spring onion rolls with Thai-style hoisin sauce. While there are plenty of options for vegetarian and pescatarian diners too, including crispy fried cauliflower bites coated in the house secret marinade served with sweet chilli dipping sauce and deep-fried squid served with sriracha.
You could always make things simple with a shared platter, which offers up a mix of spring rolls, chiang mai chicken, prawn toast, dumplings, prawn crackers and more. This is a great way to kick off your meal, then followed by one of the main dishes, such as Drunken Noodles which mixes tick rice noodles, vegetables, chicken, prawns and fresh chilli in an oyster sauce, or Kiew Wann with green curry, basil, green
beans, bamboo shoots and peppers.
On the drinks list you'll find a selection of classic cocktails such as an Old Fashioned, Pornstar Martini and a Mai Tai, as well as wine list with bottles from across the globe. In terms of entertainment, Mc & Sons embraces its Irish roots with live music nights, inviting customers to come along weekly and enjoy the toe-tapping rhythms of traditional Irish tunes.
