Located in Broadgate Circle, just a few steps away from Liverpool Street station, Medley is an independent bar and restaurant that delights Londoners (and those passing through) with their great food, laid back vibe and outdoor terrace. A great place in the city to hang out, gather the gang and even enjoy a party, Medley serves modern British food, Josper Grilled daily market fish and meats, and has a bar that serves both delicious coffee and cocktails. In the day, Medley is quite laid back, and in the night, it transforms into a buzzing space that serves fine wines.
Begin your meal with small plates of grilled harissa aubergine with slow roasted tomatoes, lemon herb caper yoghurt sauce and crispy chickpeas, or the slow cooked lamb tacos with onion puree and a crispy leek and salsa verde. Large plates are more suited to heartier appetites, a bit like a main dish. Opt for the Venetian seafood saffron risotto with prawns, mussels, day catch fish and tomato sofrito, or the herby chicken with butternut squash, red onion spelt and toasted pine nuts.
Veggie lovers will enjoy the mushroom dish, made with shiitake and oyster varieties, sesame and ginger black rice, a red pepper sauce and crispy leeks. Off the grill order the Wiltshire pork chop, a Stokes Marsh Farm ribeye or Medley burger. On the side, you can enjoy a green salad, rosemary parmesan fries and a plate of sprouts.
Desserts are delicious, too, and include a Negroni polenta cake with pistachio, along with a sticky toffee pudding paired with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. If you like to keep the whole meal savoury, end with a British cheese plate with rye biscuits.
