If you’re looking for something different to a classic British afternoon tea, look no further than the luxurious Pan Pacific London hotel located on Liverpool Street, which serves afternoon tea with a Singaporean twist.
Pan Pacific's inventive menus and extensive tea offering has earned it a reputation as one of London's best afternoon teas, and the latest seasonal tea menu is designed to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. The Lunar Collection afternoon tea has been crafted in collaboration with Cantonese-style bun specialist, Bun House, with diners able to indulge in a selection of signature buns, scones and sweet treats.
The affair kicks off with three tasty buns, including a barbecue pork belly, yam and lardo number. Next, black sesame and walnut scones are served with clotted cream and jam, while a selection of sweet delicacies include iced mochi with matcha and red dates, and pineapple wontons with sezchuan pepper.
Diners are recommended to pair Newby Tea's Chinese New Year tea, blended exclusively for Pan Pacific London, with the affair. Or, for a touch of indulgence, raise a crisp glass of Chinese sparkling wine to the occasion.
If you are more of a traditionalist, guests can instead opt for a classic afternoon tea menu, with traditional British sandwiches and scones. Whichever menu you choose, there is also a carefully curated accompanying drinks list to enjoy with your food. The dedicated Tea Connoisseur will be on hand to advise on an extensive collection of teas from the Rare Tea Company. Choose from black, white, green, oolong and herbal varieties. If you really want to add something special to your visit, choose a glass of something bubbly, with Champagnes and world-renowned English Sparkling Wines starting at £15 a glass.
