The Loft is a restaurant and terrace located in the artist's quarter of the gorgeous coastal town of St. Ives. Having functioned as a restaurant for over 50 years, it was taken over by new management in 2016 and now serves a food menu focused on quality local ingredients, complimented by knowledgeable and efficient service. Open from lunch all the way through to dinner, you can head to The Loft for everything from afternoon drinks in the sun to an indulgent three course meal. Children are welcome here and there are vegan and vegetarian-friendly dishes on the menu meaning that everyone is catered for.
Accessed via stairs up from street level, The Loft's main dining room features exposed brick walls and large windows which, when combined with the restaurant's light decor, ensure the space feels bright and airy. The loft's biggest selling point however, is its stunning undercover sun terrace, which has wonderful views over the bay and is one of the town's most popular al fresco dining spots. Dogs are also welcome on the terrace area, and there are heaters and blankets for colder days.
In terms of the food menu at The Loft, the menus change regularly depending on the season. You can expect starters such as mixed herb gnocchi with black dahl, crispy onions and coriander, and crab and crayfish rarebit on a homemade crumpet with kohlrabi and fennel. Main courses might include roasted whole lemon sole with samphire, a homemade chowder, or twice-cooked pork belly with a potato pave, while there are also specials such as chateaubriand with chunky chips. Finish things off with sweet treats like rhubarb and custard and boiled orange cake.
Drinks are just as important at The Loft with a variety of wines available by both the glass and bottle, alongside beers, spirits, soft drinks and more.
