Linden Hey Garden Tea Room in Truro is open from Monday through to Friday between 10am and 4pm, and is closed on the weekends and bank holidays. For a quintessential British, charming tea experience, you won't want to skip a visit here if you find yourself adventuring around the beautiful Cornish countryside or along the rugged coastline.
The Linden Hey Cornish cream tea comes with a pot of West Country tea and two home baked scones, strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream. That West Country tea comes in varieties of English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Red Berry and Kiwi, Lemongrass and Ginger, Darjeeling and Lapsang Souchong. Cadbury's hot chocolate is served with cream, marshmallows and a chocolate flake for a cup of pure indulgence. There are lots of soft drinks, too, including bottled elderflower fizz, a fresh glass of Cornish milk and Silician lemonade.
There is always a great selection of Nina and Olivia's homemade cakes on offer, including the Victorian fruit cake, Earl Grey tea loaf with butter, and traditional, chewy macarons. Then there are the chocolate, fruit and nut flapjacks and a traditional bakewell tart. For lunch, enjoy the homemade cheese and tomato quiche with Davidstow mature cheese and tomato and a garden salad, or the homemade soup with a crusty roll and butter. The light bite plate is made up of mixed olives, red pepper hummus, dipping olive oil and balsamic vinegar with sliced ciabatta. There are delicious sandwiches to choose from, too, including the home cooked AGA ham and mustard, brie and grape, and prawn Marie Rose. Of course, lighter appetites are well catered for with the many salads, such as the beetroot and walnut pairing.
