Appropriately named, given its location in what was Kelvinside’s grand Italianate railway station, Indian Platform is the latest venture from former Scottish Asian Businesswoman of the Year Nasreen Aksi. Rather surprisingly located above her highly successful Italian Bistro, the luxurious light-filled dining room puts on a classy contemporary show with its creamy leather chairs, polished floors, huge windows and high ceilings, while a private bar and sun terrace add yet more possibilities for socialising. The menu offers an extensive run through tandooris, tikkas, kormas, biryanis and other curry-house staples, but also look out for more unusual specialities such as Bengali king prawns, fish masala, Indian-style piri-piri chicken or lamb zarila nashi with garlic, ginger, green chilli paste and red wine. There are inviting takeaway deals too.
