At Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, shoppers are spoilt for choice when it comes to dining and drinking. A perfect example of this is the Fifth Floor Bar, which offers a haven of nibbles, cocktails and live music. As one might expect based on the rest of the shop, it's a stylish space. Patterns ripple across the ceiling, above a glamorous central bar with orange, pink and grey stools. Elsewhere, plush banquettes and sofas line the walls, ideal for relaxing after a hard day’s shopping.
There’s plenty of food to be enjoyed here, including tasty sandwiches like a chicken club with smoked bacon, mayo, lettuce, avocado, tomato and cheddar, or smoked salmon. For a lighter bite, there are also salads, such as a roasted chicken Caesar or crayfish. If, however, you fancy something a little heartier, there are also burgers (beef or bean), while the mezze platter of dips and breads is ideal for sharing. Of course, many visitors to this bar are just stopping in, in which case there is a great range of bar snacks to chow down on before heading back into the throng of shoppers. These include elegant nibbles like oysters, gyoza, fried goat’s cheese, Padron peppers, chorizo sausage rolls, tempura prawns or smoked burrata with chickpea granola and maple-glazed pumpkin.
To drink, meanwhile, enjoy a cracking range of classic cocktails, some with a fun modern twist for good measure. The negroni, for example, remains authentic, with Roku gin, Cocchi vermouth and Campari, while the ‘fall in a nutshell’ is a more modern creation, blending rum, spicy pumpkin reduction, lemon, fresh apple and vanilla syrup. At the fruitier end of the scale, you’ll find mixes like the lychee and rose, a playful combination of Monkey 47 gin, Kwaifee lychee liqueur, fresh lemon juice and rose syrup. Bubbly, beer, wine and soft drinks are also available, as are spirits by the measure.
