If you’re peddling fast food in the big city, you need a USP. This new kid (dreamed up by one of the founders of the Leon chain) stakes its claim with a range of wheat-free spelt flatbreads with
assorted toppings. These aren’t pizzas in another guise – or indeed Italian piadina – but are based on an old English recipe, & come arrayed with global assemblages ranging from Moroccan
chicken with huommos, tabbouleh & sour cream to spicy cured sausage with rocket & Parmesan – there’s even a sweet version topped with Nutella. Flat Planet also sells a range of dinky,
gluten-free cakes for those with dietary problems. Spread over two floors on Great Marlborough Street, with mix-&-match decor & the option of eating in or taking out, this is surely a
blueprint for further openings.
