Fish Club not Pie Club
Fish Club is for fishes and not pies and their kind (they've been advertising the arrival of pies on the London Underground for sometime now). Of course, if you are fond of a onion feast inside your pie you might like their steak and ale pie better than me. I appreciate the fact that they have something for their not fishy customers, but Fish Club does their, grilled, battered and fish cakes best. They have battered haloumi and wonderful salads for those who enjoy greens. The battered fish are perfectly golden, fluffy and flaky. The grilled variants are melt-in-the-mouth fresh and the fish cakes are light and never too oily. I like their clean and simple decor and the canteen style seating at the Clapham Highstreet branch. The Battersea branch is slightly smaller but they offer eat in, takeaway and home delivery services. The Clapham Highstreet branch is more popular for the less lazy eat in customers who also take away bags of food for their friends and family. This also means that the staff are sometimes rushed, but you will be served before you start fretting!
