East London is perhaps one of the most culture rich parts of the city. It initially developed as one of London's Docklands, and the primary space for its industrial centre, but these days you'll find much of East London filled with charming boutiques, the sounds of musicians playing in the streets, and plenty of great bars, pubs and restaurants. The East London Borough is home to a diverse range of culture, much rich history, has excellent transport links, and so it is no surprise that it is one of London's most popular locations for people to both live and visit. The East End, as it's known, was even home to Shakespeare's first theatre. Walk the streets and you'll be able to see where Jack the Ripper committed his gruesome attacks, and get speaking to a history buff who lives locally and they'll fill you in on the poverty and disease that filled these streets during the Victorian era – nothing like what you’ll find today.
