Whenever I visit Plymouth I always make sure that I have at least one meal at the Dolphin House Brazzerie. Up until now it seems to have been one of the largely undiscovered treasures of the City, but last week I discovered that it had been become so popular that people were being turned away if they hadn't prebooked and there was discussion about starting waiting lists. No doubt this is because the Brazzerie is winning lots of awards including Les Routiers' Best Restaurant of the Year.
What makes the Brazzerie so outstanding is the attention to detail across all aspects. My lovely pasta dish looked (and tasted) like a work of art; the table setting was simple but elegant; the service was unobtrusive but professional and the whole atmosphere was calm.
One advantage that the Brazzerie has is its location on Sutton Harbour, just around the corner from the bustling Barbican You can have an interesting view of all the yachts but dine in a tranquil, contemporary environment.
Well recommended.
