About
Following on from his clutch of bijou south-west London cafés – locally famous for their stellar brunches – Australian Jason Wells has turned to the outer reaches of Putney for his fourth site, an altogether more extensive affair. Inside you’ll find a stylishly eclectic mix of bare brick walls, white tiles and painted wooden furniture, but it’s the charming front terrace (complete with pizza oven, day beds and gas-fired log burners) that really wows. Expect the usual Brew breakfast staples – from blueberry pancakes to the signature chorizo scrambled eggs – plus a new evening menu that ramps things up a notch. The wood-fired oven produces interesting creations such as curried monkfish pizza with lime, pickle and mint, or the wonderfully spicy ‘hellfire’ pizza, alongside the likes of a king prawn skewer or glorious hunks of USDA sirloin. An intriguing cocktail list plus craft beers from Wandsworth’s Belleville Brewing Co complete a delightful package.
