The first venue to open in the City’s Broadgate Circle, Beany Green is a chirpy all-day café perfectly attuned to the needs of suits on-the-go. Being an Aussie operation (part of a small chain), it’s also big on healthy options. The place opens at 6am sharp, kicking things off with hand-held power breakfasts such as avocado-and-egg wraps, fruity smoothies and sense-sharpening flat whites. Lunch follows seamlessly, with protein-rich ‘power balls’ (oversized bhajis made from meat and pulses) plus filling salads and cakes that mean business – try the light, moreish Lamingtons. The day is rounded off by a decent selection of wines and ice-cold beers that can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the Broadgate Circle scrum. Further enticements are provided by shiny, brightly coloured interiors, animated staff, and prices that are more than fair for this neck of the woods.
