Leicester, which is in the East Midland part of England, is full of rich cultural heritage and is well known as the final resting place of King Richard III, who has been interred at Leicester Cathedral since 2015, after he was discovered buried under a car park. This cathedral is a beautifully impressive structure that has been at the city's core for over 900 years. There's over 300,000 people living in Leicester, making it the largest city in the East Midlands and the 10th largest in the whole of the nation. The city has plenty to offer in terms of arts and culture. Notably, you'll find a lot of this in the aptly named Cultural Quarter. Within the Cultural Quarter, there are many theatres, museums, galleries, and exhibitions which host a wide selection of events that contribute to Leicester's reputation of being one for great cultural excellence.
