At 1901 Caffe you can always expect a fantastic, home cooked meal. Each dish is prepared in house using quality ingredients, and the Jesmond restaurant sources ingredients and produce from local suppliers where possible. There are plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for you to choose from.
All day breakfast includes the full English with rashers of bacon, sausages, free range eggs, hash browns, mushrooms and heinz beans with white or brown toast. The vegetarian and vegan options are just as great, with sundried tomatoes, halloumi and so much more. Quick bites include meat and veggie butties, toast and teacakes, and granola with compote. The special dishes include shakshuka, corn fritters and kimchi scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough with spinach, kimchi, Nigella, sesame, chives, chilli jam and sweet chilli sauce.
At lunch enjoy the soup of the day with your choice of bread, or the spring club sandwich with chicken, zesty avocado, black pepper mayo, lettuce and tomatoes served in a toasted ciabatta with a side salad. The bacon and brie melt is stuffed with bacon jam and your choice of cranberry or homemade sweet chilli sauce. If you like things simple, order the oven baked jacket potato with your choice of filling – it’s the basics, cheese, baked beans and tuna mayo. For a truly indulgent experience try the Daim shake with a Daim bar, vanilla ice cream, chocolate and caramel sauce and whipped cream, the Oreo or Caramel Biscoff version. There are lots of health kick smoothies, too, including one designed as a hangover cure with bananas, honey, chia seeds and almond milk, and the breakfast blast with mixed berries, banana, oats, dark chocolate, hibiscus powder and almond milk.
