Whether you're staying the night at the Park Regis Birmingham or live locally, and looking for somewhere special for an evening out, you need to the newly refreshed 1565 Bar & Terrace. As the hotel's in-house restaurant and bar you can enjoy everything here from early morning pancakes for breakfast, to a late-night tipple before off to bed.
First up, we think you'll love the space which was recently renovated and now boasts a luxurious, design-led feel. Down one side of the dining room, huge, floor-to-ceiling windows open up the space and invite natural light to come bursting in. Beige banquettes, metallic accents and statement lighting dangling overhead all come together for a sophisticated scheme.
As for the menu, there's plenty to choose from. For lunch, hearty sandwiches like British roast beef with horseradish and rocket are just the ticket, while crowd pleasers will go down a treat like chicken and wild mushroom pappardelle and pizzas topped with goats cheese, farmers blue cheese, gorgonzola cheese with caramelised red onions.
Heartier dishes include a buttermilk fried chicken burger served with skin on fries, alongside Park Regis fish and chips, as well as plenty of Indian fan favourites. We particularly like the sound of butter chicken masala or the spinach and chickpeas curry served with homemade naan bread
and basmati rice.
But, the big selling point at 1565 Bar & Terrace is the cocktail list. The Brummie Bellini is a must, mixing prosecco with raspberry puree and a sparkling candyfloss cloud garnish, while The Mighty Bull brings together Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Chambord, Baileys, fresh raspberry puree, fresh squeezed lemon juice, chocolate syrup and a raspberry garnish.
In the summer months, the stunning terrace is a popular spot for sipping such concoctions and comes with a bar menu of seasona, small snacks, too.
