The Wolseley is a glamourous and historic all-day restaurant combining British heritage with European grandeur. Its private dining room is, expectedly, a distinctively beautiful setting in which to host all manner of events, from business breakfasts, to engagement lunches or birthday dinners. Whatever the reason for hosting a private dinner, a dedicated event planner will help you coordinate every detail of your experience to ensure it’s everything you imagined.
Overlooking the main restaurant below, The Wolseley’s private dining room can be accessed via its own private staircase and is subtly hidden from view to bring an extra sense of privacy to the space. It’s designed with art-deco interiors so as to complement the main dining room, and boasts arched windows on all four sides to let in plenty of natural light during the day.
With a capacity of up to 15 guests, the room can be booked for everything from breakfast through to dinner and, while there isn’t a charge to book the room, there is a minimum spend required for all bookings. The room is dressed with small bouquets of seasonal flowers to provide a stunning flourish to your event, although anything larger will need to be arranged by special request.
So, what’s the food like? The menus are designed by head chef David Stevens and inspired by the grand café traditions of Europe. All the menus only use seasonal ingredients and change throughout the year, while a curated selection of fine wines and champagnes are also available to complement your meal. The set menus vary, but might include the likes of portobello mushroom and goats’ cheese tart to start, coq au vin with creamed potatoes for main course and apple strudel with calvados crème chantilly to finish. A vegetarian menu is also available.
