Looking for a unique spot to host your next group dining event? The Rosemary Restaurant in New Cross offers the perfect space for gatherings of all kinds, from corporate events to family get-togethers. Set within a cosy, rustic interior, the restaurant blends traditional Hungarian decor with sustainable touches, creating an inviting atmosphere for groups to enjoy a memorable meal together.
The interiors are warm and homely, seating up to 20 guests for group dining, and between 25 and 30 for private dining. Alternatively, for larger events, guests can hire out the entire restaurant for comfortable dining with up to 60 guests. Private dining at The Rosemary is all about classic Hungarian dishes made to share, each of them focusing on organic, locally sourced ingredients. Everything is made from scratch, and guests can indulge in hearty goulash, beef stew and seasonal specialities, all paired with fresh herbs. Whether you're planning a casual dinner or a more formal event, the staff at The Rosemary are experienced in catering to group needs, ensuring smooth service and a warm welcome.
Starters include salty crepe-like hortobágyi pancakes filled with pulled chicken, strudel baked brie with blueberry, and traditional soups. As for the mains, picture comforting plates of baked aubergine, mushrooms stew with homemade noodles, chicken paprikash and stuffed cabbage with sour cream. Hungarian desserts may not be well known, but as The Rosemary has proven, they deserve our attention. Think Hungarian walnut trifle and cottage cheese dumplings rolled in toasted breadcrumbs and served with vanilla sauce. To accompany, you’ll also find a brilliant wine list, showcasing some criminally underrated Central European varieties.
All crockery and pottery is made by the owner Mihaly Herczeg, and are available for purchase in the restaurant. Herczeg also teaches ceramics classes from his studio, should you find yourself a little envious of his creations.
