The Old Courthouse was the seat of justice in Caernarfon until 2009 housing both the Crown court and the Magistrates court. This Grade I listed building boasts a unique ambience and, having been restored to its former glory in recent years, features nods to its original purpose throughout. If you’ve got a special occasion coming up or are looking for a unique space for a corporate dinner, consider The Old Courthouse.
Upon entry, guests will be greeted by the stunning entrance hall complete with intricate ceiling work, commemorative brass plaques and marble busts, before making their way to your event space. There are several on offer depending on your party size. The Bench Bistro, an elegant room with direct views of Caernarfon Castle and a glass ceiling, can accommodate up to 50 guests, or the quirky Witness Room is a good choice for up to 40.
If you’re planning a more lavish affair such as a gala dinner or whole company meal, the Courthouse Theatre is a great fit. Boasting a 40 foot domed ceiling, ornate plasterwork, the original brass rail and exposed cast iron pillars, this grand room can seat up to 100 people cabaret style. The space houses a large stage with a grand piano perfect for speeches and the like, and features a state of the art lighting and sound system. The seating can also be arranged according to your needs, so if you require an alternative layout the team will be happy to assist.
