Hawksmoor’s welcome expansion across the UK continues with Hawksmoor Liverpool, which as usual, takes up residence in a beautiful Grade-II listed building; this time it’s Liverpool’s iconic India Buildings, which feature Italian Renaissance-influence throughout and are clad in Portland stone. The Hawksmoor interiors take great inspiration from the building’s original features - the dining room’s towering ceilings give the restaurant a grand, palatial feel, and the comfortable leather banquettes that feature so often in other Hawksmoors make an appearance here too, as does the smart parquet wood flooring.
As well as being available for exclusive private hire, the restaurant also boasts a private dining room - The New Yorker Room - which seats up to 16 guests around a large round table. The room is named in homage to Liverpool’s historic links to New York, and the many famous Liverpudlians who crossed the Atlantic over the centuries.
Hawksmoor is famous for generous, comforting British classics. Larger groups get a choice of set menus, ordered by price point and stacked with a selection of Hawksmoor’s most popular dishes. Starters include the likes of smoked mackerel salad, Old Spot belly ribs and roasted scallops with white port and garlic, and are followed by a range of prime steak cuts, as well as alternative options like grilled monkfish, and roasted celeriac. Not forgetting, of course, Hawksmoor’s famous triple cooked chips, steak sauces and a comforting slab of sticky toffee pudding to finish things off.
