The Holland is the newest pub on the block in London's Holland Park, with a classic facade and stylish interiors that lean into the building's history, exposing rustic brick walls, gorgeous wooden floors and period panelling.
Spread across two floors, the team welcomes larger groups for special occasions or corporate events, especially private dining bookings which are held in the first floor dining room. This homely space features classic wooden tables and bistro-style chairs, interesting art works and is flooded with natural light, thanks to its large, period windows.
There is capacity for 40 people seated or 50 when standing, and furniture can be arranged to suit your event. Enjoy a communal dining feel with one central table down the middle of the room, or open up the space and dot chairs around. Diners are also welcome to decorate the space to suit the celebration with flowers, table decor or balloons.
The kitchen is run by head chef Max de Nahlik and serves up ingredient-led British dishes which change with the seasons. Generally, set menus are provided for private dining bookings but some examples of the type of dishes to expect include spiced brown crab on toast or langoustine with aioli and lemon for starters. For mains, expect dishes along the lines of pork collar with broccoli rabe and rhubarb, lemon sole with wild garlic butter or how about something bigger to share, like a 1kg rib of beef with red wine sauce? Dessert wise, we like the sound of the chocolate pot with honeycomb.
The Holland is also passionate about serving up a varied drinks selection and boasts a well-curated wine list. Highlights include a rose Cremant if you fancy a glass of something sparkling, as well as several orange wines and a large selection of reds.
